NRCan = Nature Resource Canada
On October 12, 2011, the Canada Gazette, Part II officially released Amendment 11 of the Product Energy Efficiency Directive, which came into effect on April 12, 2012. According to Canada’s Energy Efficiency Act and Energy Efficiency Regulations, electronic and electrical products sold and used in the Canadian market need to meet minimum energy efficiency requirements, and energy efficiency verification marks should be affixed to the products. This requirement is managed by the Canadian Department of Natural Resources (Nature Resource Canada, abbreviated as NRCan).
The industry generally refers to the process of obtaining energy verification marks for products as NRCan certification, and energy efficiency verification marks as NRCan logo.
